About me
Glad you want to know more about the person behind nocardio.
Who I am
I'm an IT guy and hobby coder from Munich – and I've been hitting the gym regularly for almost 13 years. Coding, training and family matter most to me; nocardio was born exactly where coding and training come together.
Why nocardio exists
Over the years I've tried just about every training app out there. And again and again there were things I just couldn't warm up to: weird emojis and garish images, childish animations the moment you finish a workout – or important features that were locked behind a „Pro“ version.
I wanted an app that focuses on the essentials, without forcing anyone to pay or watch ads. It was especially important to me that it's platform-independent – because I like to create and edit my training plans in peace on the PC and then train with my phone.
So I built it myself.
And no, I've got nothing against cardio – it's called „nocardio“ simply because the name is catchy.
Who the app is for
nocardio probably isn't the best app for beginners: there are no videos or GIFs that demonstrate each exercise – because you'll find plenty of excellent tutorials and form explanations on YouTube anyway.
Instead, all the energy goes into what matters most to me – clean progress tracking and meaningful statistics that show you in black and white whether you're getting stronger. Because that's what ultimately counts in training.
How nocardio is funded
nocardio is and stays free and ad-free. The project is funded solely through voluntary contributions, affiliate links and maybe one day a small merch shop.
